<p>PC Leader <strong>Patrick Brown </strong>lowered the boom on <strong>Jack MacLaren</strong> on Monday, following two weeks of controversy that involved raunchy jokes and fake constituent testimonials.</p>
<p>MacLaren will be gone from Queen's Park for the near future to "focus on his constituency work and partake in sensitivity training," a statement from Brown's office said.</p>
<p>"MPP MacLaren's legislative responsibilities, including his role as Critic, Natural Resources and Forestry and Vice-Chair, Standing Committee on the Legislative Assembly, will be reassigned."</p>
<p>The demotion will remain in place "until such time as I determine that appropriate corrective action has been taken," Brown said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the Liberals decided MacLaren's actions signalled that a code of conduct for all MPPs needs to be brought in.</p>
<p>Reporters were forwarded a letter from Premier <strong>Kathleen Wynne</strong> to Speaker <strong>Dave Levac </strong>saying the parties will work together on developing the code.</p>
<p>"I believe that we must not tolerate inappropriate conduct by or against our members as they conduct their work, be it in the legislative precinct or at events in their ridings and elsewhere," her letter said.</p>

<p>Brown, however, was away on Monday to take part in the Boston Marathon. He started off at a very fast pace that slowly fell off — but, of course, finishing a marathon at all is the really impressive part.</p>
