Just eight sitting days remain in the session before the House is set to rise on June 7 and few bills moved through the legislature this week. None passed third reading.

The Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills sent two bills to revive corporations for second reading: Bill PR1, Coutu Gold Mines Limited Act and Bill PR4, Hili Enterprises Ltd. Act

The two competing anti-bullying efforts, Bills 13 and 14, continued public hearings in the Standing Comittee on Social Policy. Hearings continue the week of May 22.

Bill 15, Ontario Society of Professional Engineers Act, passed second reading and was referred to the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs. Unless committees sit through the summer, it's unlikely it will be considered until the fall session.

Bill 19, Residential Tenancies Amendment Act (Rent Increase Guideline) saw its 10th day of second reading debate, where it remains largely as a result of the Tory filibuster.

Bill 34, Security for Courts, Electricity Generating Facilities and Nuclear Facilities Act, was held up in the Standing Committee on Justice Policy for the fourth week in a row. Clause-by-clause consideration has been blocked by procedural efforts from the Tory caucus.

Bill 55, Strong Action for Ontario Act (Budget Measures), continued in second reading debate.

Bill 62, Legislative Oversight of Regulations Act, passed second reading and was referred to the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs. Unless committees sit through the summer, it's unlikely it will be considered until the fall session.

Bill 81, Inherited Heart Rhythm Disorders Awareness Act, passed second reading and was referred to the Standing Committee on Social Policy. Unless committees sit through the summer, it's unlikely it will be considered until the fall session.
