It’s been a good week for:

* Liberal leadership hopeful Kathleen Wynne who staked out a clear platform with a series of policy announcements. She also picked up the coveted endorsement of Health Minister Deb Matthews.

* Toronto Argos owner and Conservative senator David Braley who appears set to pocket a $10-million profit from the Grey Cup – after the federal and provincial governments kicked in a total of $9.5 million to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the game.

* Metrolinx after the regional transit agency finally nailed down a deal to build four LRT lines in Toronto

* eHealth which seems to be making steady progress as 1,500 pediatric doctors plugged in Ontario's online medical record system.

* The Salavation Army after police recovered $2 million in toys stolen from the charity. The toys were found in three tractor trailers hidden in a Brampton warehouse two weeks after they were taken.

It’s been a bad week for:

* Education Minister Laurel Broten whose bargaining strategy was in tatters after teachers in York and Niagara rejected negotiated settlements, the OSSTF announced that it was suspending talks and the union representing the province’s elementary teachers said they would begin strike action next week.

* The Bank of Canada after Governor Mark Carney said he was leaving to take the top job at the Bank of England

* High school football coach Rob Ford after his Don Bosco Eagles were trounced 28-14 in the Metro Bowl. He was also removed from his other job as Mayor of Toronto after a judge ruled that he had contravened the province’s Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.

* Mississauga ratepayers who learned that they face a 7.8 per cent tax hike in 2013 and that a proposed $1.5 billion LRT might not see the light of day.

* Ontario's horse racing industry after a Forum Research poll found that just 25 per cent of respondents were in favour of subsidies for the industry compared to 62 per cent who were opposed.

- Premier Dalton McGuinty who took Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to the Grey Cup Game in Toronto on Sunday.

“I don’t know who we have waiting in the wings, but it will be hard to find someone of his calibre who commands the same level of respect with government and the public alike.”

- NDP finance critic Michael Prue, reacting to news that Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney is leaving to take the top post with the Bank of England

“They applauded for a process that allowed people with different views and areas of responsibility to be able to talk through their differences.

- Dean McCabe, president of the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario, describing a standing ovation by condo industry stakeholders after a public information forum hosted by Minister of Consumer Services Margarett Best on proposed changes to Ontario’s condo act.

“Buckle in!”

- Tory Leader Tim Hudak during a speech to the Economic Club of Canada., saying some of his reforms won’t be popular but they’re necessary to save the Ontario economy.

“Together we will take Canada to new heights.”

- Former astronaut Marc Garneau who has been there, done that, launching his bid for federal Liberal leadership.

“Rob Ford did this to Rob Ford.”

- Lawyer Clayton Ruby who brought the conflict of interest complaint that resulted in Rob Ford being ousted at Toronto’s mayor.
