* Herb Epp, a former Liberal MPP and mayor of Waterloo, has died at the age of 78. He represented the former riding of Waterloo North in the Ontario legislature from 1977 to 1990. A funeral is planned for this Friday.

* The justice and jury system in Ontario is in a state of crisis for the province’s First Nations people, according to the latest <a href="http://www.firstnationsandjuriesreview.ca" target="_blank">report</a> from independent reviewer Frank Iacobucci, a former Supreme Court justice.
First Nations Representation on Ontario Juries identified 17 recommendations for improving the system of representation of aboriginal people on juries to “enhance their perception of the jury system.”
"For Ontario's First Nations peoples, particularly in the North, the justice system and juries process generally are in a crisis," Iacobucci said.
"As a result of our face-to-face meetings with leaders and community members from 32 First Nations from across Ontario, we developed 17 recommendations that will help ensure that the cultural values, laws, and ideologies of First Nations are better reflected in the Canadian justice system."

* A filing from the Independent Electricity System Operator to the Ontario Energy Board <a href="http://www.thestar.com/business/2013/02/26/surplus_wind_power_could_cost_ontario_ratepayers_up_to_200_million_ieso.html" target="_blank">claims</a> that handling surplus wind power in the province will cost electricity ratepayers up to $200 million annually unless market rules are modified.
IESO vice-president Terry Young told the Toronto Star this does not indicate the power system in Ontario will be unreliable if rules are not changed.

* Telus Health announced Tuesday <a href="http://blogs.vancouversun.com/2013/02/26/telus-health-acquires-ontarios-largest-electronic-medical-records-company/">it is acquiring Ontario’s largest electronic medical records company</a>, which will make it one of the countries largest online health record providers.
The deal, set to close March 4, will give Telus more than 50 per cent of the market for  doctors who currently use electronic health records instead of paper files.
“We’re very excited about this announcement,” Telus Health president Paul Lepage told the Vancouver Sun. “It will allow us to become the largest EMR provider in Canada [and] it positions us beautifully in Ontario and frankly it fits beautifully with our strategy.”
