The Coalition of Ontario Doctors circulated a survey of doctors and, of those who answered, most say they don't want to be made to pay dues to the Ontario Medical Association anymore.
The dissident doctor group sent the poll directly to OMA members and about one-in-ten responded. It's unclear how representative the responses were, as the coalition urged their own members to participate in it in posts on their social media pages. However, it shows at least 3,048 doctors (71.72 per cent of the responses) said they want to make OMA membership, and dues, optional.
The poll shows the Coalition's dissatisfaction with the OMA on a number of levels, and includes finding that the majority of respondents want OMA President Dr. Virginia Walley and the OMA Executive resign.
