Just about one year after the new government won its mandate, there's been a mini-deputy minister shuffle within the civil service.
The moves comes on the heels of a significant announcement from the government, with 1 per cent salary increase caps for three years for over one million employees.
Here's a look at which deputy ministers are changing roles and who has been made permanent in their role, having shed the interim title.

<li>Kevin French becomes the deputy minister at Treasury. The 30-year civil servant has been the deputy minister for Government and Consumer Services for the past year.</li>
<li>Karen Hughes, who had been the interim deputy minister at Treasury, will take over at Government and Consumer Services while also overseeing ServiceOntario.</li>
<li>Chris Giannekos goes from the interim to full-time deputy minister at Infrastructure, which between announcements on transit and Ontario Place has seen increased activity lately. </li>
<li>Shelley Tapp also moves from interim to full-time status in her deputy minister role at Transportation.</li>
<li>Marcelle Crouse becomes the interim deputy minister of Labour as of June 7. Crouse steps in at a time when labour will be a priority issue, given the government's proposed legislation on Wednesday and ongoing contract talks with teacher unions. </li>
<li>Hillary Hartley becomes the chief digital and data officer in Cabinet Office. The move follows the announcement that the government is going into the next phase of developing its data strategy, which QP Briefing first <a href="https://www.qpbriefing.com/2019/06/04/government-outlines-policy-principles-for-smart-cities/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported earlier this week</a>.</li>
