Position Summary:
St. Joe's is looking for an experienced, innovative and highly motivated leader in public affairs and communications strategy. In this role you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of multi-dimensional communications and marketing initiatives that will enhance the hospital's brand, reputation and public profile. This includes executing a multi-pronged corporate communication strategy of media relations, internal and external communications, issues management and public awareness / communication campaigns. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing our social and new media presence within our community and the broader health sector.
This position will require you to align with and work across many departments within the hospital, as well as with the St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation and our community partners.
Purpose of Role
<ul>
<li>Execute organization's communication plan, which will support the Health Centre's 5 year strategic plan and developing corporate brand strategy.</li>
<li>Lead the strategic communication planning, creative development and production of all communication campaigns including traditional and emerging media.</li>
<li>Manage and promote the Health Centre's corporate reputation, brand awareness and influence on key stakeholders, including government relations.</li>
<li>Collaborate with departments such as Human Resources and Medical Education and Scholarship to help advance the recognition component of our people strategy and highlight our key role in teaching.</li>
</ul>
Responsibilities 
<ul>
<li>Ensure creative, efficient and cost-effective processes and capabilities are in place to manage all communications and marketing initiatives.</li>
<li>Implement strategies to manage corporate reputation and mitigate potential negative impact when issues and crises arise.</li>
<li>Serve as communications lead and advisor for the Senior Leadership Team.</li>
<li>Develop strong relationships with multiple external and internal stakeholders across all levels of the organization.</li>
<li>Ensure the Corporate Communications &amp; Public Affairs team operates as an essential and strategic resource to various departments in the health centre.</li>
<li>Procure and manage partner agencies, suppliers and vendors as required.</li>
<li>Provide strong leadership to direct reports to motivate both individual and team performance.</li>
<li>Ensure an integrated approach between the communications and marketing initiatives of the health centre and SJHC's Foundation.</li>
