Cap and trade likely to cause higher electricity prices, power producers say

Twenty-eight per cent of the province’s electricity capacity comes from fossil-fuel-fired sources, according to the Independent Electricity System Operator, and natural gas prices are set to be hiked under Ontario’s coming cap-and-trade system.
