Note: QP Briefing wants you, dear reader, to send in news and announcements about people on the move for our weekly, uh, People on the Move feature. Let us know who's in, who's out, and who's merely taking a year-long sabbatical to a far-flung destination (all in the name of finding themselves, naturally). To contact our Nomadic Employment Practices Tip Line, send a note to email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Reporters are standing by.
The Ontario Real Estate Association has re-jigged its government relations department.
The group, which represents 64,240 real estate brokers and salespeople in the province, has promoted Adam Yahn as its new assistant director of government relations. Sylvia Pena has been promoted as well, becoming OREA's new senior government relations specialist.
Yahn previously oversaw legislative affairs for former Official Opposition and PC leader Tim Hudak. Pena had served as an Ontario Legislature intern.
"Adam and Sylvia have helped lead our association’s advocacy efforts which most recently culminated in stopping the spread of the municipal land transfer tax (MLTT)," said OREA Director of Government and RECO Relations Matthew Thornton in an announcement. "These changes reflect their ongoing dedication to Ontario REALTORS® and their ability and willingness to rise to the challenges we will face in future."
OREA provides education and other services to its members, along with running Ontario's real estate licensing courses.
