‘A complete black hole’: Auditor finds delays, lack of transparency and pay problems in appointments process

The auditor general said 140 of the 606 appointees to board-governed and advisory agencies are being paid more than the rate dictated by the government’s directive – sometimes as high as $1,000 a day, as approved by the Treasury Board.
